A market leading Intelligent Transport Systems Consultancy are looking for a Design Engineer to provide design, procurement and supervision to all aspects of Intelligent Transport Systems / Highways Technology / Telecommunications / Electronics / Electrical projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for engineers, preferably with an Intelligent Transport Systems / Electrical / Electronic / Power / Telecommunication / Fibre / Cooper / PDH / SDH / DWDM / Transmission background, who have an aspiration to develop their career in a multi-disciplined technology environment. As an Intelligent Transport Systems Design Engineer, you will be required to work as part of the Design team reporting directly to the Design Manager on all major ITS Projects. You will apply (and where necessary, develop) an understanding of the engineering and management techniques associated with communication / electrical / system biased and multi-disciplined projects. You will be accountable for the design of all major projects (CCTV / ANPR / Variable Message Systems / Accident Detection loops / PDH / SDH / DWDM) within the company. Preferably you will have experience as a Systems Designer or Systems Engineer for Highways Agency / NMCS2 Design Schemes within the Intelligent Transport sector, alternatively you may have been a field based / hands on engineer on Highways Communications equipment or have been a Telecom Designer / External Planner for a Telco operator.
