The Role
The role combines excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a good technical understanding of corporate Microsoft Windows and Systems Management environments to provide our client’s sales team with the technical support they require to respond to prospective customer’s technical queries, deliver product demonstrations and drive their prospective customers through an effective and successful evaluation of their software solutions.
The role is very customer-facing and you will be confident, well presented and technically authoritative with all levels within their customer’s organisation, from technical operations staff to CxO level. There will be extensive travel throughout the UK and Europe and the occasional trip to the USA.
You will work with their software development team to both understand how their solutions are being developed to address new customer demands, and also to provide input into future product development based on the feedback you get from prospective customers that you work with. You will also participate in the transfer of this understanding to the sales team and customers through conducting internal training sessions and producing technical papers and marketing collateral.
Key Responsibilities
• Technical qualification calls
• Pre-sales meetings
• Technical support, direction and delivery of customer software evaluations
• Product Demonstrations
• Technical Sales Documentation (RFP / RFI Content)
• Providing constructive feedback from customer evaluation experiences (regarding faults, improvements, documentation issues etc)
• Working with the Development team throughout a product’s lifecycle to provide real world insight into how customers will actually use the product.
Key Skills
• Experience implementing software in a corporate or enterprise Microsoft Windows environment
• A good understanding of core infrastructure technologies (e.g. Active Directory, Group Policy DNS, TCP/IP, DHCP etc.)
• Experience with using or implementing Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 or Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have a technical background and will also demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with specific focus on winning the customer over. Due to their expansion into the European market, a French or German speaking candidate would be preferred.
