IT Operations Consultant – Cheshire

An IT Operations Consultant is required to work for a leading professional services company based here in Cheshire. Working as a client focussed IT Operations Consultant, you will be expected to work very closely with both the service delivery and service management teams internally to identify faults and issues around software and hardware; as well as working with and managing externally, the third party relationships, selecting suppliers where appropriate and ensuring they are managed correctly to deliver the results as and when required. Candidates will be expected to own problems and issues from an end-to-end perspective, ensuring your client(s) are aware of all relevant progress and proposed solutions. You will be able to demonstrate excellent customer skills and must be well organised and methodical in your approach to your work. Desirable skills and experience: • Excellent supplier management and client liaison skills • Exposure to the end-to-end system development life-cycle and web-based development environments • 2nd/3rd line client support • Commercial experience working with a number of the following: .NET, ASP, J2EE, SQL, PL/SQL, UNIX and Windows Operating Systems and any RDBMS experience • Degree qualified and/or relevant industry qualifications • Knowledge and experience of working with Prince 2 and ITIL All applicants must have attained either a suitable industry qualification and/or a degree and be keen to develop their career in the consultancy arena. This career will see you given the chance to work directly with clients to deliver solutions and will involve travel on an ad-hoc basis as part of this role.
